Welcome to
At Peace
with Cancer
Iʻm Mike, a 74-year-old guy whose body began an adventure with cancer some four years ago. In order to support me, my family and those around me, I have been working to experience this adventure in a spirit of strength, kindness and (even) joy. And I created this blog near the beginning so I might share this journey with others (that is, you), if they care to join me.
Cancer can be an adventure rather than a curse
When someone receives a cancer diagnosis it often becomes an occasion for generating fear and drama. One doesn’t have to go there, and I’ve created this blog to share with others my journey in working to live peacefully with this condition, no matter the outcome. My goal is to practice life-giving kindness for myself and everyone around me, including any of you who choose to accompany me on this journey.
I’m no saint, and I have joyful days and tough days, which I intend to share openly here. It’s not about what happens on a particular day; it’s about what I choose to do with it.
